Lita is one individual whom fans will remember forever in the world of professional wrestling. Following her debut in WWE in 1999, she became one of the top stars in WWE.

Not only did she experience glory, but she also amazed the WWE Universe with her in-ring abilities and various memorable segments.

However, in 2006, Lita announced her retirement. Following her defeat to Mickie James at the WWE Survivor Series PPV in 2006, she left WWE. Prior to her match against James, she announced her retirement from in-ring competition.

What happened to Lita?

Lita won the WWE Women’s Championship twice in 2006. But another thing that the WWE Universe will forever remember about Lita is her controversial storyline alongside Edge. The storyline involved an infamous segment that brought a lot of backlashes.

After several months following the segment, Lita announced her retirement. Also, Lita suffered multiple injuries during her professional wrestling career. And that might also have played a big role in her retirement.

However, after her retirement in 2006, the WWE Hall of Famer made part-time appearances for WWE. She also appeared on the independent circuit following her retirement in 2006.

Though Lita did not appear in much in-ring action following her retirement, she appeared in WWE in various roles. She appeared as a trainer for the sixth season of WWE Tough Enough.

And from October 2015 to July 2016, the WWE legend worked as a creative writer and backstage producer in WWE and also did commentary for The Mae Young Classic in 2017 alongside Jim Ross.

Did the WWE Legend ever wrestle again?

Yes, Lita wrestled again following her retirement in 2006, but occasionally. During the 1000th episode of Monday Night Raw in 2012, she defeated Heath Slater in a no disqualification and no count-out match.

At WWE Evolution in 2018, the WWE legend teamed up with Trish Stratus to defeat Alicia Fox and Mickie James.

The former WWE Women’s Champion also took part in a 10-woman tag team match on Monday Night Raw following WWE Evolution 2018.

Lita even entered the inaugural Women’s Royal Rumble match in 2018. She impressed everyone with her performance and eliminated Mandy Rose and Tamina before she got eliminated by Becky Lynch.

In 2014, the WWE legend got inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The WWE Hall of Famer will once again take part in the Women’s Royal Rumble match at the WWE Royal Rumble 2022 PPV.

Lita is not the only WWE legend who will return to in-ring action that night. Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, and Michelle McCool are some of the other participants of the Women’s Royal Rumble Match for the WWE Royal Rumble 2022 PPV.
