CM Punk has all the spotlight on him as we move toward the hype-grudge match between the Seventh City Saint and his arch-rival Drew Mclntyre. The bout has been special in several ways. Firstly, CM Punk will look to settle a score with the Scotsman once and for all after tormenting him for weeks. Secondly, it’s the first official WWE match for Punk in the last ten years. The former champion will get a chance to find his footing in the business in his second stint. Last but not least, Seth Rollins’ being in the referee’s shoes made the match ten times more appealing. So, Punk had to start the match on a special note, and he did. A tribute to his wife led him on the way to the ring.

The reason for CM Punk’s pink outfit at SummerSlam: Revealed

The iconic sight flashed before our eyes as Punk loomed large in bright pink shorts and a hoodie. He joins the other two needle-movers (Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre) in the match, with the entire crowd singing the Cult of Personality. The match got underway with seething intensity, exactly as it was destined. While the moves and counter moves are on watch, we are still heavily stuck on Punk’s jaw-dropping gear, which turns out to be a tribute to his wife, AJ Lee.

The gestures can also be an honor to Bret Hart, as Punk has previous records for coming out in signature pink and black gear both in WWE and AEW matches.

We will have to look for more closure to know the motivations behind it.

However, Punk had some pre-decided plans for his SummerSlam attire.

While not giving us any clue about the pink tribute to his wife Lee or Hart, Punk roughly shared what he would have donned on the spectacular Saturday night.

The attires play a meticulous role in any stellar match. The outlook and presence of the superstars kind of set the tone for their roles and demeanor in the scheduled feuds. Adhering to that, en route to the boiling one-to-one clash between the fierce rivals, Punk was asked to enlighten about his attire beforehand by Ringside Collectibles. The Seventh City Saint responded, ”Maybe shorts, I also don’t know. I just think the classic CM Punk WWE is kick pads and trunks. Then again, I never say never, that could change in the future, but right now, I know at SummerSlam, I’ ‘ll be in trunks.”
