Is Bron Breakker's decision to ditch the Steiner name a smart move or a missed opportunity?

The wrestling world has seen the rise of several wrestling families. Some of them have maintained themselves on the top of the hill to this day, while some are still in the making. Bron Breakker is part of the latter part of the list as he shares the ‘Steiner’ blood in him. A lot of fans may not know this fact about the two-time NXT Champion, but he is a second-generation wrestler from the Steiner family.

Now that you know about his family’s legacy, you may be wondering why Breakker doesn’t share the same last name on the WWE roster. Well, he has been wondering the same.

Bron Breakker’s request wasn’t heard

Several wrestlers on the roster who come from wrestling families tend to carry the same last name to get over among fans. Even though WWE acknowledges the blood that Breakker carries in his veins, they probably wish for him to develop a legacy of his own.

Scott Steiner, Bron’s uncle, recently spoke to ‘Monopoly Events’ where he was asked about his thoughts on Breakker not using his father Rick Steiner or uncle Scott’s last ring name. “I think it’s great, and I think he wants to be a Steiner but there’s certain things there’s no reason trying to change. So if that’s how they want to push him, so be it. It’s not a fight worth fighting,” said the WWE legend.

Even though Breakker wants to use the family name on the roster, WWE probably wants him to work with the one he has been given since it suits his style of wrestling and also his physique. This way, he will build his own legacy rather than getting over among fans using an already popularized one.

Scott claimed that they are still a close-knit family and that he regularly talks with his nephew. He had no tips that he wanted to give to him publicly except telling him to keep doing things that he was already doing in WWE. It appears that Bron Breakker’s luck is helping him climb the roster fast, as he could be set to become a champion soon.

Will Bron Breakker come out of SummerSlam as a champion?

The wrestler in question has been wreaking havoc on the red brand roster just to go after Sami Zayn and his reigning title. Breakker wishes to end his championship run. Until now, there had been a lot of drama when trying to decide the worthy opponent for the Canadian-born wrestler. Although he has proved himself as a champion who can defend his title with all he has got, Breakker seems confident that he won’t lose against Zayn at SummerSlam.

After several matches and laying down all the potential competition, he is now going to Cleveland and wrestling for the Intercontinental Championship. With how WWE is trying to push the young superstar, there is a floating chance that he may walk out of the upcoming PLE with his first main roster title on his shoulder.

This would prove the Stamford-company correct, that Bron Breakker doesn’t need to be a ‘Steiner’ to make quick work of his opponents in the ring. While the former Honorary Uce is not somebody one should meddle with, Breakker may get a pass for the same as it would be interesting to see him in a title reign.
