The Superstar Spectacle was truly something to behold. While classic fan favorites like John Cena, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre featured in the event, WWE also indulged in some major fan service for the Indian market with Indian wrestlers like Jinder Mahal and Indus Sher. So it’s no secret that India has been a major market for WWE for a while now.
However, one star wrestler missed out on a chance to feature on the Spectacle, due to no fault of his own. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he apologized to his fans, prompting many to question what exactly prevented him from joining in on the fun.

On his official X account, Mustafa Ali posted, saying, “My apologies to all the fans in India. Would have loved to perform there. With all the tension that exists between Pakistan and India, I would have loved to shown that a man from both countries can bring us together.”
Mustafa Ali apologized to his fans in India for missing out on the Super Spectacle House Show in Hyderabad, India. He confessed that he would have loved to perform and be the man trying to bridge the gap between the two countries, especially due to his heritage as a half-Indian, half-Pakistani wrestler.

Ali was referring to the decades-old rivalry between India and Pakistan which is a result of the political tension between the two nations. The rivalry runs along many sports such as cricket, hockey, soccer, etc. Pro-wrestling is the only sport untouched by the tension, even though Mustafa Ali has been pitted against several Indian wrestlers at the same time in WWE.
There is a possibility that Mustafa Ali was not booked, as WWE had other plans for him. Ali is currently booked for a feud against Dominik Mysterio for the North American Championship and will face Dirty Dom at No Mercy on September 30th.

Another predicted that the decision could have been due to prior commitments with NXT, which Ali recently reappeared in.

However, others believed that it might have been more technical than that. With the star’s mixed heritage, international travel could have been an issue.
