In 2018, Dwayne Johnson did an unthinkable gesture toward his 18-year-old fan Katie Kelzenberg, when he rented out an entire theater for her.

Who is Katie Kelzenberg and how did she become friends with Dwayne Johnson?

Katie Kelzenberg was an 18-year-old from Stillwater Area High School. A die-hard fan of Johnson, she never had any friend to ask out during prom and took the brave step of asking out Johnson for her prom.

Proms are a big tradition in high school, and teenagers often dream about asking either their favorite person out for their prom. And, while people only dream about going out with their favorite superstar, Kelzenberg showed the guts of doing so.

She dressed as per her favorite star’s iconic photo back from his early days. Sporting a black turtle neck sweater, blue jeans, and a fanny pack, she took to Twitter to ask The Rock to come to prom with her.

However, unfortunately despite wanting to, The Rock failed to go to the prom with her, due to his prior commitments.

However, he made sure to make it up with a very warm gesture. The actor’s prior commitments compelled him to stay in Hawaii, and he unfortunately had to decline her proposal but made sure to make her day with a special surprise. Apart from booking the 232-seat theater, he also gave her a special and personal surprise.

What gift did Dwayne Johnson give to Kelzenberg?

Soon after the 18-year-old sent out her proposal for prom to Johnson, he got back to her with a massive and special surprise. A few days later after she had sent out the proposal on her Twitter, Dwayne Johnson would get back to her through her school’s intercom system.

This would leave her utterly speechless, and tearing up with joy. It was a very warm moment, and everyone witnessing it found it joyful. It showed how committed Johnson is to pleasing his fans. Alongside booking a theater for her, and her friends and family to grab a screening of Rampage, he also left her a personal message.

Johnson would take to his Twitter account to share an update on this as well. Where he wrote, “I wish I was there in person Katie, to see your reaction to all this, but I’ll hear about for sure and most importantly – you and all your friends have fun at the theater and ENJOY RAMPAGE! Thanks for being an AWESOME FAN and I’m a lucky dude to have fans like you.”

He also wrote, ” I was so impressed by this young lady’s charm and confidence to even ask me (ladies always get shy in front of me) that I had to do something special.” This entire moment surely became a core memory for the 18-year-old. And will be etched in her mind forever.

Dwayne Johnson has always made sure to keep his fans happy and help out those in need. Recently, he flew down to meet UFC fighter Themba Gorimbo after his first fight. Johnson’s gesture left Gorimbo on the verge of tears as The Rock fulfilled his promise to Gorimbo.
