There are not many people who would hate one of the biggest celebrities in the world, Dwayne Johnson. But his work with the Fast and Furious cast has caught a little over the years. There have been several reports in the past articles which explore the possible reasons for Johnson leaving the series, but this is not one of them. Instead, we’ll talk about one of his co-stars, who dragged his name through the mud over the last movie he did in the series.

The Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw, was a spin-off movie set in the Fast and Furious franchise. But this would be the last movie that featured Johnson. The movie was a colossal hit in the theatres and many critics praised it for the action scenes. But one of the cast members of the original movie series wasn’t so happy as the rest of us.

Dwayne Johnson gets dragged by co-star over spin-off Fast and Furious movie

In a TMZ interview with Tyrese Gibson, an interviewer asked him about Johnson’s new Fast and Furious movie. Gibson replied, “Everybody coming at me like I’m hating on him about this spin-off. I’m not. Truth is, I just wish that he was releasing it at a different time. Fast and furious family, the fans, the tribe, the people that are you know rocking with us for 15 years. Pushing our release date back. It’s only happened one time in the history of Fast and the Furious is when we lost our brother, Paul Walker.

So he’s [Dwayne Johnson] the reason we’re pushing back the release date back now. I just have a problem with Dwayne. It appears that he’s being selfish, it appears that he is so focused on furthering his own self-interest. He’s making decisions from the seat that he’s seating. Fast of the Furious 9 is coming out in 2020, it’s f**ked up.

Tyrese Gibson has been playing, Roman Pearce, in the series since, 2 Fast 2 Furious. His attachment to the series and dedication to the role despite being a singer justifies his anger towards the spin-off. But this does not justify his reason for dragging The Rock’s name. At the end of the day, this interview only shows one side of this conflict.
