“What’s the Point of the Circus”-Fans Stand Divided Witnessing Rare Sight of Rhea Ripley Actually “In the Ring”

The Judgement Day has been one of the focal points for WWE for the past few months. However, in the group, it’s Rhea Ripley who has constantly kept the momentum going. Whether it’s generating heat from the crowd or showing up at all 3 flagship shows, the champion has always delivered, or has she? 

On the latest edition of NXT, Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio faced off against Dragon Lee and Lyra Valkyria in a mixed tag-team match. Unfortunately for them, especially Ripley, fans aren’t thrilled with her performance as they voiced their displeasure on social media.

Rhea Ripley and power not enough?

After challenging Lee and Valkyria to a mixed tag team bout last week, the four individuals put on a competitive match at NXT Heatwave. 

The feud started after Lee had Mysterio’s blessings to defeat “Dirty Dom” for the NXT North American title, and picked up pace with the addition of Ripley, who’s always at the aid of Dominik and Valkyria helping Lee.

Unfortunately, the rivalry lost steam quickly as WWE was unable to convince fans that Judgement Day’s challengers were posing a serious threat. With a lackluster build-up, the match had to outshine the critics wrong, but it didn’t necessarily achieve it quickly. And for a change, it was Ripley who was under the lens of introspection.

In a video posted by WWE below, you can see Mami displaying her strength by picking up her opponent in a powerbomb style but switching into a suplex in transition. While the move is impressive, it doesn’t excite the Internet fully.

This is yet another criticism that the 26-year-old has received after the WWE universe expressed their displeasure over her tactics of always cheating and using dirty tactics to help Dominik win her matches.

While her loyalists defend her motives and in-ring strength, most of them expressed their annoyance on social media.

“Pointless” fans divided by Mami’s strength

The match saw a surprise ending as Dragon Lee’s team won with him pinning Dominik. Raquel Rodriguez, who has been feuding with the current champion since last month, showed up to attack Ripley, allowing the babyfaces to go over. But ultimately Ripley’s in-ring performance received criticism.

Some trolled her move as they felt it didn’t make sense and lacked logic, as a simple suplex would have been as effective.

“What’s the point of the circus when the finish product was one of the most common suplex? 🤔”

“Wouldn’t a regular suplex be more easier and quicker lmao”

While others weren’t happy with main roster superstars polluting the NXT talent by dominating them like that, in line with her suplex.

“Wasn’t nxt supposed to be for development talent 🙄”

“To this day the move does not impress me. Shits so pointless”

However, like always, Ripley’s fans were quick to jump and make the save by lauding Mami and her abilities. Regardless of her antics, her fans will always root for her.

“Dats our Mami 🖤💜”

“Keep rhea in the ring fr bro , she so damn good”

“MAMİ🫶🏻🫶🏻”
