The Awesome Truth hit the ring tonight with an equally awesome upgrade in their RAW tag team title. WWE debuts the first set of two new tag team championship title belts on RAW with Triple H and Adam Pearce crowning The Miz and R Truth the inaugural World Tag Team Champions. It later culminated in a Triple Threat tag match between D.I.Y. (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa), New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods), and The Creed Brothers (Julius Creed & Brutus Creed to determine the first challengers of the current champion. With this landmark change materializing in the tag team space, let’s look at the rich history attached to the retiring title.

Looking back at the memory attuned to The RAW Tag Team Championship

The RAW Tag Team Championship is one of the most notable honors that WWE has handed to the best for more than two decades. It dates back to 2002 with Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit being the first proud recipients, defeating Edge and Rey Mysterio in the finals of a tournament to become the first tag team champions in history. With the brand split separating the roster into RAW and SmackDown, the WWE Tag Team Championship was renamed as the RAW Tag Team Championship back in 2016.

Now, it will be interesting to see what the Awesome Truth can add to the historical title glory in their current run as the World Tag Team Champions.

However, we can expect some banger from the new champions as they are visibly in the CEO’s good book.

R-Truth lived their much awaited WrestleMania moment to the fullest, claiming the Raw titles after pushing Damian Priest off the ladder.

With Austin Theory and Grayson Waller picking up the SmackDown title, WWE split the undisputed tag titles. The move has been hugely welcome fan as they sense the potential both the brands hold separately. However, the cynosure moment from the matchbook was the Awesome Truth work getting their deserved shout out from the current WWE Boss for their amazing character works.
