The Horror Show at Extreme Rules was something else entirely. The interesting stipulations planned certainly lived up to the hype. The topic of focus now is Rey Mysterio and his career at WWE.

Rey Mysterio has delivered one of the most interesting storylines on RAW with his feud against Seth Rollins. “The Monday night Messiah” has also kept the crowd alive with his gimmick.

The crazy “Eye for an Eye” stipulation had everyone thinking about how WWE was going to play it out. The match between Rollins and Mysterio was anxiety at its best.

The two Superstars actually tried physically removing each other’s eyes.

In the end, Seth Rollins managed to seize the victory by supposedly pulling out Mysterio’s eye by pushing it into the steel steps. Although this was a fake eye, Mysterio is all but blinded for television purposes.

This leads to a lot of questions. Will Mysterio continue his storyline in WWE or not? “The Master of the 619” is on his second stint at WWE and has had a long and successful career with the company.

Seth Rollins badly injured his eye at Extreme Rules. However, reports say that he will make a full recovery, and there are chances of his eyesight being restored. He will be out for a while sadly, as his wounds heal.

Rey Mysterio has been working beyond his contract

However, its no secret that he is working under an expiring contract that has most probably already reached its end. There was talk that Mysterio was ready to sign an extension.

Apparently, he asked for higher wages that Vince McMahon rejected. This was due to the budget constraints WWE was going through as a result of the pandemic.

There is a lot of smoke around the question of Mysterio’s career in WWE right now. Mysterio also stated earlier that he wanted to wrestle alongside his son at least once before he retired from or left WWE.

This dream may not be possible until at least early next year when Mysterio feels that Dominick will be ready. The high-flyer is now at a crossroads where he has to make a crucial decision.

If he decides that his time in WWE is done, then the storyline will have a bitter end with Rollins emerging the victor. However, if Rey Mysterio decides to return, at least for a couple more months or so, it would mean big for viewership ratings.

The choice is all his. WWE will also have to figure out how they are going to use him, should he choose to stay. One thing’s for certain- Mysterio is an asset wherever he goes.
