The Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Cody Rhodes saga is yet to unfold its next chapter. However, the WWE Universe loved the ride so far until WrestleMania XL that the WWE will be putting out a documentary. Since Mania ended, speculations and rumors about this documentary project have existed. What does it entail, and when could the fans see it is slowly coming to light? Here is everything you need to know about it.

Johnson last appeared on the RAW after Mania to confront Rhodes. The Final Boss left the new WWE Undisputed Champion with a warning that he would be coming for him when he returned. While fans loved the segment and are patiently waiting for The Rock to return, the journey to get here wasn’t the smoothest one. Brian Gewirtz has recently made headlines by revealing unheard aspects of Mania XL. Among these have been the original plans for The Rock vs. Roman Reigns and how WWE pivoted to Rhodes. The writer’s most recent outing came as a guest on the Busted Open podcast. Here, he spoke to Dave LaGreca and Tommy Dreamer regarding the original plans for the Grandest Stage of Them All.

Gewirtz said, “There’s a doc coming out. It’s in WWE’s hands. I’m not sure, you know, I’m sure they’re strategizing on, you know, the best way to release it and everything.” Previously, it was mentioned that the documentary was under hold because The Final Boss did not give his stamp of approval. However, Gewirtz clarified that was not the case during his interview with The Masked Man podcast.

He continued, “And it’s great. I’ve seen it. It’s it’s one of the most eye-opening peaks behind it. Well, it’s called Behind the Curtain, and I guess for good reason.” According to him, the documentary will reveal the initial plans for WM 40 and how everything changed. As of now, no release date for the documentary has been provided. Nevertheless, despite the reported disagreement between Dwayne Johnson and WWE, Gewirtz suggested that the documentary portrays the Hollywood star well.

Despite his unseen heel turn during the feud, according to Gewirtz, Johnson had a lot of input in making the angle as good as it was. While talking on Busted Open, he explained the entire timeline from Mania 39. All of this will be covered in the documentary, which will show how Triple H and Nick Khan handled the situation as fans turned on The Rock.

Johnson is set to return once his Hollywood projects are completed to continue the feud with The American Nightmare. While fans patiently wait, they are also hyped for Reigns’ return. While The Bloodline 2.0 has formed in Reigns’ absence, many have speculated The Final Boss may have had his hand in it. What do you think about the documentary and what it could reveal?
