The Undertaker is known to hoodwink fans into believing that he is done with WWE. In June 2020, the ‘Deadman’ announced his retirement from wrestling, and reconfirmed the news in an interview with Ariel Helwani of ESPN.

WWE’s most iconic wrestler will have a hard time adapting to life without wrestling and WWE. Every year, since he went part time, Taker has only wrestled on PPV. These include his mandatory WrestleMania matches, and matches at SummerSlam 2015, Extreme Rules 2019 and the Saudi Arabia PPVs.

Undertaker’s future after Survivor Series is on the minds of every WWE fan. Some deny that Taker is done with wrestling, while some have accepted that the Phenom can no longer wrestle at the pace he used to.

Taker’s appearance at Survivor Series promises some fireworks, although people do not know whether he would wrestle. The most likely scenario for Survivor Series would be Undertaker announcing his retirement from WWE for good.

There is no better place for Taker to announce this disheartening news. Thirty years of loyalty to Vince McMahon have served Undertaker very well. He has grabbed every one of Vince McMahon’s brass rings and has nothing left to achieve.

The Deadman’s wife Michelle McCool also thinks that Taker’s time is up. In an interview with People Magazine, Michelle said, “No injury is easy to watch, but then knowing it’s your husband is a whole different story. That just adds a whole other level to it.”

The Fiend vs The Undertaker

However, WWE could pull the rug from underneath Undertaker and the WWE Universe. A certain Fiend has not yet been booked for Survivor Series, and it calls to speculate whether he would play some role in Undertaker’s Final Farewell.

The Fiend vs The Undertaker is classic WWE booking. They have already reeled fans’ attention by announcing Taker’s final farewell but could tease Taker’s next big rivalry. Goldberg suffered the same treatment after his Hall of Fame induction, and so did Kurt Angle.

If the Fiend does attack Undertaker at Survivor Series, it could lead to a marquee WrestleMania 37 match between the two. The Deadman could be a massive scalp for Bray Wyatt, who has already beaten the best of WWE’s current roster. A cinematic match could be in the works.

WWE will not let go of the Undertaker with such ease. Even though the PPV where he debuted makes for the perfect place for him to retire, WWE will find a way to bring Taker back into the ring. Taker has said so himself, that Vince McMahon always convinces him to wrestle.

Undertaker’s WWE future is not in jeopardy. The Phenom can be useful as a backstage presence, or even as a trainer for the Performance Centre. If WWE cannot use him as an in-ring talent, they will make good use of his expertise in other avenues.
