Rhodes and his newly minted allies (Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens) received the rowdy treatment from the new Bloodline several times. Tonight at the psyched-up Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland Ohio, the American Nightmare brought that out while cutting a passive-aggressive promo against Sikoa. Eventually, the rest of the Bloodline showed up. Rhodes had a special acknowledgment of camaraderie with Tama Tonga and here’s the lesser-known history.

After the classic NPJW heel group came into existence back in 2013, Cody Rhodes, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa teamed up as part of it and wreaked havoc together. However, in the later years, the storyline took on a pear shape, with an inner struggle forming—Cody Rhodes’ and Kenny Omega’s beef with Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Haku.

The Tangoan brothers eventually ended the civil war by announcing their superiority in the stable. Now, given how the years have passed and destiny brought Rhodes and Tama Tonga together again in strife, there are multiple possibilities to capitalize on their past.
