The Stamford-based federation has a full calendar of premium live events that are taking place with increasing frequency away from American soil. Elimination Chamber in Australia, Backlash in France, Clash at the Castle in Scotland, and the upcoming Money in the Bank in Canada and Bash in Berlin in Germany are just a few of the PLEs that WWE has not organized in America in recent years. Recently, however, it seems that the latter has applied to reuse a WCW PPV, perhaps to take it overseas. As reported by Fightful Select, yesterday WWE applied for registration of a trademark previously used by WCW.
In recent years, thanks to the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office), we have been able to know in advance some names that certain WWE superstars were going to adopt, or the creation of new company shows such as NXT Level Up or NXT Spring Breakin’, among many other cases. On this occasion, WWE registered on Tuesday, July 2, the trademark ‘SuperBrawl’, which is precisely the name of one of the PPVs that WCW held in the past. WWE has reused many aspects of WCW in its programming, and it looks like it could bring back the popular pay-per-view from its old rival promotion. But what was the SuperBrawl? And is Triple H actually bringing it back?
The SuperBrawl was a staple of WCW programming from 1991 to 2001. The inaugural main event featured Ric Flair vs. Tatsumi Fujinami for the WCW and NWA World Heavyweight titles. As reported by Fightful Select, WWE has applied for registration of the SuperBrawl trademark. This description accompanied the application for the trademark.

So what does this mean for the WWE’s future?
WWE to incorporate major WCW PPV event to its marquee portfolio?
Of course, this does not guarantee that the registered trademark will actually be used by WWE for a future event anytime soon. However, the company has filed the SuperBrawl trademark specifically for broadcast media, making it clear that they might have something planned related to the event. And it is anyway interesting to see that the federation now owned by Endeavor shows interest in a former PPV of the historic rival. It should be noted that WWE has already revived old WCW pay-per-views, such as Halloween Havoc, for NXT special shows.

As for now, Triple H would be busy planning stuff for the WWE’s next big premium live event, Money in the Bank. The show will be held at the Scotiabank Arena in the city of Toronto, Canada, on the night between Saturday, July 6, and Sunday, July 7. So, what do you think? Will the WWE be bringing back SuperBrawl anytime soon? Or is it just to keep the trademark safe for somewhere in the future? Let us know in the comments.
