He was once a tiny leprechaun prancing around Fit Finlay and then Vince McMahon’s bastard child. However, he’s always remained an enigma for most of his career. Former WWE superstar Hornswoggle is in the news, but what is he up to?

In 2006, Dylan Postl made his WWE debut as a leprechaun who accompanied Fit Finlay to the ring. He continued to be an assistant of sorts to Finlay, even helping him beat Bobby Lashley for the United States Championship.

Eventually, his run extended to him being the illegitimate son of WWE CEO Vince McMahon. While the storyline was distasteful and quite odd, it gave Hornswoggle a platform to showcase his talent as a performer. He even held the WWE Cruiserweight Title during that storyline.

From there, WWE utilized him as more of a menacing, comedy character instead of a genuine athlete. He remained a fan favourite, but WWE limited his role to just a comedy wrestler. Even in that role, Hornswoggle found tremendous success and even became the ‘anonymous’ Raw General Manager.

The last stages of his WWE career were probably the best. His run in 3MB and rivalry with El Torito remains his best work in WWE.

He himself claimed the WeeLC match at Extreme Rules is the best match of his career. After a Wellness Policy violation and lack of appearances, Hornswoggle left the company in May 2016.

What is he up to in 2021?

After his WWE run ended, Hornswoggle took his talents to the independent scene. He dropped ‘Horn’ from his name, and Swoggle became an instant sensation on the independent scene.

He worked for promotions like CHIKARA, WrestlePro, and even wrestled at WrestleCon. He even appeared in the movie Leprechaun: Origins and Muppets Most Wanted.

He made sporadic appearances in IMPACT Wrestling from 2016 to 2020 and teamed up with the likes of Rockstar Spud [Drake Maverick] and Robbie E [Robert Stone].

His last appearance for IMPACT was a hilarious imitation of WWE’s AJ Styles. As a surprise from the Good Brothers, they teased fans with a shock appearance from AJ Styles but received AJ Swoggle instead.

He even appeared on AEW television as a part of Inner Circle’s trip to Las Vegas. As of now, he claims that he’s officially done with the wrestling business.

However, he competed in his first-ever boxing match at Rough and Rowdy 14 against Jeremy Smith. Although he lost, he praised his opponent on Twitter.

No one knows whether Hornswoggle will step into a wrestling or boxing ring again. He has become a very successful man over the years, and he might even want to rest off his laurels and take a much-deserved break from combat sports.
