Big E is no longer a rookie on the main roster of the WWE and has gradually received the push he deserved. Fans had been anticipating this moment for a long time and they finally got their wish fulfilled.

When WWE signed new Superstars, they had to choose a new ring name for themselves. Big E, the current WWE Champion, also chose a ring name for himself.

Ettore Ewen is Big E’s real name. He is a native of Tampa, Florida. He was a former powerlifter who won the U.S. Open Powerlifting Championships in 2010 and 2011.

When people refer to Ewen by his ring name, Big E Langston, it makes him feel powerful. You may be wondering what the E in his name, Big E, represents. Eventually, he shortened his true name, ‘Ettore Ewens,’ to Big E. Because he is such a big guy, he is appropriately referred to as Big E.

In 2009, Ewens signed with WWE. He developed his wrestling talents as time went on. He improved to the point where he won the FCW tag team championship for the first time (now NXT).

Big E’s WWE Journey

In 2012, Big E won the NXT Title defeating Seth Rollins to become the second WWE NXT Champion. But, his NXT title reign was short-lived ending in 153 days.

Later, he joined the main roster on December 17, 2012. He allied with Dolph Ziggler and his manager, AJ Lee, after being drafted to the main roster. However, due to feuds between Ziggler and AJ, their alliance came to an end.

In 2013, he set his sights on winning the Intercontinental Championship, which is his first main roster championship. However, as time went by, new feuds erupted for Big E, ultimately causing him to lose his championship.

Surprisingly, in 2015, he was assigned to The New Day, where he would be paired with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.

This change started a new journey for Big E, making him the tag team champion alongside Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. The New Day rocked the main roster with their amazing matches and entertaining promos. They also hold the record for being the longest tag team champions for 483 days. The journey of Big E with the New Day has truly made him a fan favorite.

In 2020, The New Day split up as Big E was drafted to Raw. And, that made his singles competition match return. At the 2021 Money in the Bank, Big E won the Money in the Bank contract.

Big E cashes his Money In The Bank

On September 13, 2021, Big E cashed in his Money In The Bank contract to defeat Bobby Lashley. It was a dream come true for him while fans were happy watching the New WWE Champion.

Big E’s long journey for the title is astonishing and is a testament to his patience and struggle. Today, he is one of the most loved WWE Superstars. He’s gentle and a true WWE Champ.
