Cody Rhodes left a jam-packed Lincoln Financial Field arena with the Undisputed World Championship belt wrapping around his waist. And guess what, The Rock also didn’t hit the trail without receiving his prize. And the prize in question here is the big bucks for delivering remarkable performances on the grandest stage of them all last weekend. The company treated him with some extra TKO shares, reportedly worth $9.41 million.

WWE paid The Rock his dues after a blockbuster WrestleMania

A new SEC filing suggested that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson garnered 96,558  TKO shares worth a total value of $9.41 million on April 7. The reward has been vested “upon completion of certain services described” in The Rock’s WWE contract. Also, Meltzer previously reported that he made around 30 million for his return. The Rock made a triumphant return to the fold a few months back and spiced up the Bloodline storyline alongside his cousin Roman Reigns. He got on the nerves on the American Nightmare and ended up earning a high-stake tag team match for WrestleMania NIght 1. Even though Rhodes won over all the odds on the final mania night and finished his story, The Final Boss downed him on Saturday Night with his iconic ‘People’s Elbow’ after weeks of trading barbs.

From cutting some of the most savage promos in history to delivering ground-breaking performances each week on WWE TV, The Rock did it all. These antics resulted in an inflated viewership graph for the weekly shows. And it completely made sense for the company to pay the TKO member back for his value addition.

However, The Rock’s WWE stint has probably come to a temporary halt after his first in-ring bout about in ten years at WrestleMania 40.

The Rock takes a break from his WWE commitments amidst massive checks and praise

The Brahma Bull assumed a crucial role as a core member of the TKO Board of Directors back in January and extended his influence through various promotional activities and other decision-making services. Now, whether The Rock’s mammoth payday at Mania was for his one-off work on the WrestleMania night, or a deserved salary for his exceptional work as the TKO board member both inside and outside the ring is not clear. The only clear thing is that we aren’t going to see him in action for some time now. The former WWE champion announced from Raw last night that he will disappear from the fold for a while with a seating promise to Cody Rhodes that he will return to finish his story with Rhodes shortly.
