Even before the 46-year-old was done faking his retirement in the middle of the showdown, Rhodes showed up and had a courteous conversation about their previous encounter before he got fobbed off. Styles whispered something significant into Rhodes’ ears in the build-up to their dramatic brawl, making fans wonder what it was. Well, they wouldn’t have to scratch their head if they had been more attentive to Rhodes’ social media antics. And it seems The American Nightmare himself confirmed it with a one-word tweet right after the segment.

Cody Rhodes seemingly gave away AJ Styles’ secret message on Twitter

AJ Styles and Cody Rhodes started with a deceiving respectful note where Styles calls him title bro after the two exchanged a warm hug and a tight handshake following the discussion about their greatest match in France. But later it came out Styles still possesses pent-up frustration against Rhodes as he, out of the blue, ended up clotheslining the American Nightmare, leading up to a heated feud. But as fans seem more concerned about what Styles delivered in Rhodes’ ears before turning on him, the former AEW star came up with a definitive answer. In a post-segment tweet, he wrote, ‘ Phenomenal’, almost indicating what Styles said.

The showdown continues to be more cranked up going forward.

While fans deem the segment as no less than pure cinema, Rhodes’ better half didn’t back down to speak up for her husband on Twitter.

Cody Rhodes knocked the Phenomenal One down in a spectacular match back in Backlash, silencing his critics. Rhodes survived a series of menacing attacks from his opponent. But overcoming those threats wasn’t the end. Styles is planning a vindictive move, as depicted during the SmackDown promo tonight. The duo butt heads once again with Rhodes getting rubbed by Styles Clash off of the ring steps. Although betrayal has not been foreign to Cody Rhodes in his Kayfabe storyline so far, his wife Brandi Rhodes couldn’t just let it go without firing back.

The 40-year-old former wrestling personality took a direct jibe at Styles on Twitter.

Condemning his move, Mrs Rhodes wrote, ‘‘That was h*e activities… With h*e tendencies. Da*n it, Styles,” wrote Brandi.”
