Roman Reigns made a cracking return to WWE at SummerSlam, an event that shook the rating scale. “The Big Dog” speared the new Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in one of the most unexpected moments ever.

The question now looms over everyone- What can we expect from Roman Reigns on SmackDown?

The former WWE Champion initially stayed out of the ring because of health concerns with the pandemic. However, he finally decided that it was time to go back and went on to blast through SummerSlam.

Reigns has made his intentions clear. He wants the Universal Championship and will do everything in his power to get it. No sooner than a couple of days after SummerSlam, his match against “The Fiend” was booked for Payback.

This match will be a Triple Threat fight for the title involving Braun Strowman as the third party. “The Fiend” has only just won his title and has to overcome the high possibility of losing it again at Payback.

If Roman Reigns manages to win the Championship, the impact it could have on his storyline would be immense. As the new champion, “The Big Dog” can reignite his feud with Goldberg, which ended so abruptly right before WrestleMania.

Goldberg could return to face Roman Reigns

“The Icon” always loves a fight and would definitely like a shot at taking the title back. He still has some gruesome fight left in him and could make a big match happen with Roman.

As the Champion, we can see a lot of Superstars square off with Roman Reigns. AJ Styles may soon want to get in on the action as well. Reigns may see himself in plenty of big feuds.

There is also this lingering speculation that states that Roman Reigns is part of the notorious faction ‘Retribution’. Over the past few weeks, Retribution has been the talk of the WWE Universe. Covered in black clothing, the group vandalizes WWE sets and ambushes Superstars.

Fans have been trying to find clues about each members’ identities but have only come as close as guesswork. Reading the new wordings on Roman’s t-shirt that say “Wreck Everyone & Leave” is precisely what Retribution has been doing.

Fans suggest that Roman Reigns is the leader of this faction and that he is the mastermind behind every attack.

If this theory turns out to be true, we could see “The Big Dog” move through SmackDown as well as Raw. He could be the alpha of the WWE Universe with his powerful faction and will definitely make Retribution the next Nexus.

If Roman doesn’t win the Championship at Payback, he would still count his storyline with “The Fiend”, or may go on a different path. We will soon find out what happens but either way, we will be seeing a lot more of Roman Reigns over the weeks.
