Almost a decade ago, the WWE Universe witnessed a new faction who called themselves Nexus. They wreaked havoc all over WWE for months.
The faction lasted only for a year, but they gave the fans some of the most memorable moments and rivalries that have been unparalleled.
A member of the faction and former WWE superstar Darren Young revealed that there were plans for the Nexus to return this year at WrestleMania.

Young talked to the VP show, where he made this huge revelation. The former faction was set to return at WrestleMania 36. WWE decided to scrap the idea.
He said, “If Nexus would’ve come back… and who knows what would’ve happened, but we were scheduled to come back for WrestleMania. Yeah, this year’s WrestleMania in Tampa.”
Nexus returning would be a huge moment. Why WWE chose not to go with the storyline is unknown. However, we can assume that it could be because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The idea behind the faction returning is to pull a crowd. Maybe WWE thought it’s better to do it once the situation cools down.
WWE run of the Nexus
Nexus was a team of NXT talents that came into the main roster as a part of a takeover storyline. They invaded Monday Night Raw on June 7, 2010, during the main event between the then WWE Champion John Cena and CM Punk. They went on to attack both superstars along with the commentators.

Wade Barret led the team, and the faction feuded with top Superstars of the WWE. John Cena also joined the faction after losing a match against Wade Barret in Hell in a Cell. CM Punk too made his way into the faction and eventually went on as far as to lead it.

Nexus making a return to tear through stars on the top of the food chain would be thrilling to watch, to say the least. The faction’s arrival could also see former WWE Superstar such as Ryback and Wade Barret making their way back to WWE.
