Fans, however, have the answer in their mind and that is none other than the current WWE superstar and New Day member Big E. The former WWE Champion always has had a dream to wrestle against Goldberg, his childhood hero. On the other hand, Goldberg also seemed very pleased with the 37-year-old superstar, once calling him the prototype for a modern wrestler.

Considering the two generations’ superstars’ admiration toward each other, fans believe there can’t be anything better than Big E retiring his wrestling icon on his returning match after injury.

After a recent tweet came out from the Public Entertainment Podcast with the same subject mentioned above and picked Big E as Goldberg’s last opponent, fans couldn’t keep calm and filled the comment threads with their solidarity with the common wish.

Some of them believe that the match will probably be on next year if only Big E comes back.

Some of them, however, seemed more concerned with Big E’s health. They want it only on one condition, and that is Big E’s complete recovery from his current neck injury.

Big E’s potential return from injury

The 8-time-tag-team champion was sidelined due to a neck injury during a SmackDown episode last year. The mishap happened due to an overhead belly-to-belly suplex from Ridge Holland during a match. However, the New Day member was actively seen promoting WWE events, and doing talent scouts for the company during his time away from the ring.

As March 2023 marks his one-year absence from the ring due to the injury, fans are hoping that the star is doing fine and makes his in-ring return real soon.
