The main event of WrestleMania 39, day 2, at SoFi stadium, Hollywood had the WWE universe on the edge of their seats. While everyone was certain that Cody Rhodes will pin Roman Reigns and finally end his 900+ days reign, the unexpected happened and the ‘Tribal Chief’ defended his title successfully.

Fans were still thinking about the next superstar who could possibly end Reigns’ dominance when Triple H threw another bombshell and introduced a brand new championship. This made fans wonder why WWE gave up on the perfect opportunity to separate the titles at Mania.

However, the mystery is a little solved now as the WCW legend Eric Bischoff has stepped forward and predicted the potential reason behind Triple H’s decision.

WCW legend supports WWE’s decision

On the latest episode of his podcast, ‘Strictly Business with Eric Bischoff’, the WWE Hall of Famer supported WWE’s decision not to let Cody Rhodes win at WrestleMania 39 in order to split the belt.

Bischoff straightforwardly explained how disgraceful it would have been for the championship if Rhodes split it on Raw after Mania.

Talking to Jon Alba, the WCW legend said that making Cody Rhodes win at WrestleMania 39 to separate the championships seemed great but it could have disgraced the universal championship.

Bischoff mentioned that if Rhodes would have announced that he just want the heavyweight title and he is relinquishing the Universal title to create opportunity, then it would have looked like he was looking down on the title.

Supporting WWE’s decision, Eric Bischoff said, “But here’s…here would be the argument to that…‘Okay so Cody wants this one but he doesn’t really care about that one’. Well, that kind of devalues that belt…….Cody said here you take it because I’m a nice guy you have it, it’s yours, you all fight for it, I don’t, I’m good that kind of devalues that Championship doesn’t it?”

Now that Cody Rhodes didn’t win at WrestleMania 39, do you think that his chapter is over? Well, the answer to this is ‘maybe no’.

Is Cody Rhodes’ chapter over?

Just 24 hours after Mania, WWE started a feud between Cody Rhodes and the ‘Beast’ Brock Lesnar. This made fans think that Rhodes’ championship chase is over. However, recently, Cody Rhodes has stated that his story with Roman Reigns and the WWE championship is not over yet.
