Hogan would defend the belt for over a year before his reign came to an end in the 1995 Halloween Havoc. 1996 would usher in a new era for Hogan when he formed the New World Order (nWo). With them, he would battle in various tag team matches and even began a feud with fellow member Randy Savage. Till 1999, Hogan won and defended the belt many times. However, controversy soon erupted, and the WCW was demolished in 2001.Â  Following its demise, Hogan returned to the WWF in 2002. He returned with the nWo, but the trio would soon collapse at WrestleMania X8. His return would be short-lived, as he had another small stint with NJPW before signing on with TNA. His storyline followed many tangents, including one where he was the owner of the TNA. But 2014 would have him return to the WWE.
