Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) has always been a big believer in embracing one’s culture and heritage. He has often spoken about his Samoan Culture and the passion he has towards understanding it and helping his children learn their heritage.

Therefore, before his daughters understand the legacy they have on their shoulders, it was important for them to understand the roots. As a result, he visited The Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, Hawaii with his mother Ata Johnson, and daughters Jasmine and Tiana Gia.

He took to social media to show a glimpse of their tour. The organizers showed his young daughters what the Polynesian culture comprises. They experienced the energy, the positivity, and learned how their heritage is celebrated.

Of course, Johnson was there with his tiny tornadoes throughout to help them understand it all. He revealed that the Polynesian energy could be a tad bit frightening for children, but his daughters stood proud throughout the entire time.

The Rock insisted on having his culture embraced in a famous Hollywood franchise

Dwayne Johnson used to play the role of Luke Hobbs in the Fast & Furious franchise. In the franchise’s spin-off named Hobbs & Shaw, Johnson led the Polynesian war dance, siva tau.

A few Polynesian actors and even Roman Reigns were a part of that scene. Even the director only took a few takes of the dance since Dwayne Johnson warned him about the sensitivity of the culture.

The love and admiration Johnson has for his culture is immeasurable. He often talks about the Samoan culture, and how he cherishes absorbing its positivity.

In fact, when he first arrived at WWE, his character paid a tribute to High Chief Peter Maivia and Rocky Johnson; The Rock went by the name Rocky Maivia.

Peter Maivia and Rocky Johnson created a legacy for the Samoan Wrestling Family. The Rock carried the legacy forward when joined WWE. When he left, some other superstars such as Roman Reigns, The Usos, and others from the same family took up the mantel.
