‘The Rated-R Superstar’ Edge appeared on this week’s NXT for the first time and for a moment, it all seemed unreal! Edge met NXT General Manager William Regal earlier in the day and then interrupted the NXT Champion Finn Balor and Pete Dunne’s verbal back and forth later to send a message of his own.
WWE NXT plants seeds for Karrion Kross vs. Edge
Edge interrupted the segment between Finn Balor and Pete Dunne and sent a coherent message to both men that he would come for the NXT Championship if he wishes to. He also put over NXT as a brand and said it fueled him to make a return. But Balor vs Edge and Dunne vs Edge weren’t the only matches WWE teased.

The camera crew stopped Edge as he left following a chat with Bronson Reed and asked if he would really challenge for the NXT Championship. He said he hadn’t decided yet, and in came Karrion Kross.
“Words like that, they can be motivating. They can motivate me to come back here. I don’t think you’d like that.” – @EdgeRatedR to @WWEKarrionKross

Karrion Kross threatened Edge, saying he should make his Royal Rumble pick carefully, but the ‘Rated R Superstar’ didn’t budge. He said threats only motivate him more, and that would only drive him to come back to NXT, something Kross wouldn’t like.
Interestingly, the ‘Rated R Superstar‘ was not intimidated by Kross. He gave a fitting reply to Kross and left the building while Kross was fuming!
Well, they did exceedingly well with the first tease between Edge and Kross. It is something no one saw coming, but when everyone saw it, they couldn’t stop dreaming!
Will the ‘Rated-R Superstar’ really challenge for the NXT Championship?
Charlotte Flair did the unthinkable last year when she challenged for the NXT Championship after winning the Royal Rumble. This year, Edge won the Rumble and honestly, his announced appearance made one wonder if he’s really going for the black and gold brand’s top prize.

The WWE Hall of Famer has expressed his desire to wrestle Finn Balor in the past, so we cannot rule a program between the two out. But one thing is certain, it won’t be a feud heading into WrestleMania 37. Edge’s appearance may only be a move to counter-program AEW’s Beach Break Edition of Dynamite.

We will know in the next 24 hours if Edge’s appearance helped NXT get a ratings boost or not. If it did, we would love to see him back and wrestle a few guys such as Tommaso Ciampa, Karrion Kross, Adam Cole, and Johnny Gargano.
