

Last week on SmackDown, a fatal-four-way match was organized to pick the number one contender for the WWE Universal Championship. As a surprise entry and as Big E’s replacement, Jey Uso entered and won the match. Uso will now have to face the champion and his real-life cousin Roman Reigns at WWE Clash of Champions 2020.
WWE Shares Never-before-seen pictures of Roman Reigns and Jey Uso
To fuel the fire behind the rare cousin vs cousin match, WWE shared an album of pictures of the two. The album had ten pictures of their childhood and their WWE days. The album also featured Jey’s twin brother Jimmy Uso.

The relation between Reigns and Jey Uso
Reigns and Uso belong to the esteemed Anoa’i family. They are a family of professional wrestlers which includes WWE Hall of Famers like Rikishi, Yokozuna, and Sika as well as modern Superstars like Reigns, Uso Brothers, Tamina, Nia Jax, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Reigns and Uso are first cousins once-removed. The Usos are the sons of Hall Of Famer Rikishi and Reigns is the son of another Hall of Famer Sika. The Rock and Nia Jax are honorary members of the family. The Rock’s father and Nia’s father are first cousins. Peter Maivia (Rock’s father) and the forefather Amituana Anoa’i were blood brothers.

Previously, WWE has capitalized on the rivalries between siblings including Bret vs Owen Hart, Jeff vs Matt Hardy, and Brie vs Nikki Bella. All of these rivalries were well received by fans. So, it is safe to say WWE is trying their old wine in a new glass with the cousin vs cousin match.
