‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin has been an iconic idol for many of the WWE Superstars and fans all around the world. He rose to the peak as the main attraction of ‘The Attitude Era’.

‘The Texas Rattlesnake’ is also the first choice of many pro-wrestling legends in their list of the Mount Rushmore of WWE. Quite remarkably, he has a day all to himself, i.e. Austin 3:16 day.

As part of this year’s Austin 3:16 day, WWE released a rare video of ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and John Cena chatting up, and Cena getting emotional.

‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin “Melts the Heart” of John Cena

Honoring the 3:16 day, WWE posted the rare footage on YouTube. In the video, the WWE legends were seen interacting backstage at the RAW reunion in 2019. Austin asked Cena if everything was good and ‘The Champ’ replied that everything was good. When Steve Austin told John Cena, “I’m proud of you, ” Cena modestly replied, “I suck.”

Stone Cold‘ repeated that he was proud of John Cena and made ‘The Prototype’ emotional. He expressed his thanks to Austin, saying that it means a lot.

After their interaction, John Cena, who spoke to the camera, said, “So, I’m very glad you got that on camera. Because like that just melted my heart. Steve Austin saying that ‘I am proud of you’ is really cool.”

Although John Cena and the ‘Texas Rattlesnake’ have never fought in the squared circle, the two WWE legends have interacted on many occasions. In 2003, Cena took a stunner from Austin at Tribute to the Troops. Further, ‘The Cenation Leader’ hasn’t appeared on WWE Television since his defeat to the Universal Champion Roman Reigns last year.

Over the course of the history of sports, there have been many eternal gimmicks and catchphrases. But, “Austin 3:16” stands above them all as it had such an impact.

The iconic Austin 3:16 incident happed in 1996 King of the Ring, when ‘Stone Cold’ beat Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts. In the post-match interview, as a response to Roberts’ biblical persona, Steve Austin exclaimed, “Austin 3:16 says, I just whipped your a**!”

The moment was marked in history with the incredible success of WWE’s Attitude Era.

Now, ‘Stone Cold’ is returning to the ‘most stupendous event in the history of WWE’, aka WrestleMania 38, for a special edition of the KO show with Kevin Owens. WrestleMania 38 will live stream on April 2nd and 3rd on Peacock.
