WWE brought back the King of the Ring tournament in 2019 after a hiatus of four long years. Baron Corbin ran through his opponents and officially became ‘King’ after defeating Chad Gable in the finals of the tournament. However, after being ‘King’ for two years, he lost his crown and title.

Baron Corbin turning face on WWE SmackDown soon?
Corbin met the ‘King of Strong Style’ in a Battle for the Crown on SmackDown last week after Nakamura and Boogs outnumbered him for weeks. Both men put on an exciting match. But in the end, it was Nakamura who prevailed and walked out as the new ‘King.’
Corbin couldn’t believe himself as Nakamura defeated him last week. He was literally crying as Rick Boogs placed the crown on Nakamura’s head. This week, too, Corbin and his days of sadness continued.

Megan Morant caught up with Corbin for an exclusive interview following SmackDown. She asked him if he feels his career is slipping away from him. Corbin didn’t say a word and simply nodded his head in disapproval. One could easily see the dejection on his face.
After an awkward silence, Megan Morant asked Corbin about him losing a lot of money he invested. He said, “Hundreds. A hundreds and thousands of dollars. I mean, I was a wealthy man. And now?”
Corbin didn’t continue his statement and simply looked away in dejection.
Ultimately, the once ‘King’ looked completely somber as Morant understood it wasn’t the best of times to interview him. Now, this little interaction, this somberness from Corbin, strongly makes us believe he’s in line for a major character change.
Speaking of character change, there are two ways WWE can go with him. One, they could do the unthinkable, turning him into a righteous babyface. Or two, this dejection and downfall could lead him to bring back his ‘Lone Wolf’ gimmick.
