Roman Reigns is currently in the best run of his career. He is at the top of the WWE mountain and looks unbeatable. The Head of the Table has defeated WWE Superstars and legends alike since becoming the longest reigning Universal Champion in history. Way back in 2003, Goldberg had come into WWE after WCW lost the Monday Night Wars. Goldberg was a spectacle to watch in his prime, just as he is now.

The Hall of Famer showed his incredible strength on the April 28 edition of Monday Night Raw when he decimated an army of WWE Superstars. In the process, he also delivered a vicious spear to Roman Reigns’ brother Rosey, putting him through a barricade.

The history between Roman Reigns and Goldberg

Although the duo will be in their first match ever at Elimination Chamber 2022, their paths have crossed a few times before. WWE inducted Goldberg into its 2018 class of Hall of Fame, and during his speech, Goldberg took a hilarious dig at Roman Reigns.

While talking about how he came up with his character for wrestling, Goldberg mentioned the fact he and his team came up with a devastating finisher. A finisher that was extremely intense and apparently very easy to copy. Here, The Hall of Famer was talking about his signature move, which is the spear. He teased Roman for copying his signature move to the delight of the audience.

The match between Reigns and Goldberg was supposed to happen much before Elimination Chamber. WWE originally had plans for both superstars to fight at WrestleMania 36.

But because of the pandemic and its various implications, Reigns could not make it to that show. Hence, the plans got canceled and The Hall of Famer faced Braun Strowman instead.

Surely, Reigns will be looking to pay a tribute to his late brother Rosey when he faces Goldberg at the Elimination Chamber on 19th February. It will be a treat to watch two masters of the spear collide with each other. Goldberg has made legendary upsets before and won big-ticket matches. Will he be able to do the same with The Tribal Chief or will Roman continue his historical title reign? Only time will tell.
