Gable Steveson has planned his life very well so far. The Olympic gold medallist defended his NCAA heavyweight title in the final collegiate match, yesterday. He performed his trademark backflip on Arizona State’s Cohlton Schultz to secure the victory. After that, Steveson officially retired from the sport of amateur wrestling in order to move on with WWE.

The top-seeded young wrestler has already signed a deal with WWE. Also, he has accomplished everything he wanted before joining a new career. Currently, the Minnesota Golden Gophers star is all set for his WWE chapter and is waiting for the right time to debut.
Gable Steveson is All Set For His WWE Journey
Steveson has accomplished his life goals better than we expect from a 21- year-old. The Heavyweight champion won two NCAA titles and a mighty Olympic medal within a brief span in his career. Now, after securing the collegiate title, he has made his decision to pursue a WWE career public by signaling the end of his amateur wrestling career.

After the triumph, Steveson performed his signature backflip for the cheering fans. Then, he went to the center of the mat and took off his shoes to leave them there, which is a time-honored retirement ritual of wrestlers. Talking to ESPN in a post-match interview, he said, “I’m done. I did what I came to do. I was going to win the Olympic gold and win the national tournament again.”
After the Olympic Games I contemplated retiring from amateur wrestling and find a new path to take (WWE). Deciding to come back was hard but I wanted to give the people one last good show..

Furthermore, he expressed his interest in becoming a professional wrestler for WWE and attending the stupendous WrestleMania in April. “I hope I gain many WWE fans when I take the next step,” Gable Steveson added. Also, he has made several appearances at WWE programming as he eyes a potential future in the business.

Steveson Looks Back on His Career So far
Talking further about his career so far, Steveson shared the key to his life as a wrestler. “Just maturing, physically and mentally, having good people around me, having a good support system. It’s taken me to many places, you guys could see so many more,” he said.

Moreover, for the next generation who are stepping into the ring, the young wrestler offered his advice. He said, “Just stay focused, stay grinding, keep a good friends group, young kids stay in school, have fun, train hard and love wrestling. You will never get here if you don’t love it.”
