It generated a ton of wealth and success for the actor. Moreover, his venture into the celebrity alcohol business was yet another step in the right direction with Teremana Tequila.

The tequila was launched in 2020 and quickly rose to the top of the industry, breaking a ton of records.

Johnson used two Polynesian words, “Tere” for Earth, and “Mana” means Spirit for the name. Combined together, ‘Teremana‘ translates to ‘Spirit of the Earth.’ This is an homage to The Rock’s culture and background. Furthermore, unlike most celebs who hire people to make their alcohol, Johnson paid close attention to everything being done. This brand comes from a place close to his heart.

A video recently posted to the brand’s official X page shows the meticulous making process. After the bottle is filled, it undergoes a process by hand. This slow, attention-to-detail process led the brand to become what it is. The video gained a ton of attention for the effort that was showcased.

The video shows how each bottle has the label placed by hand. Following this, the bottles are dipped into black wax to form the seal around the top. This hand process shows the care with which each bottle is prepared.

The brand has two priorities: sustainability and affordability. The brand ensures every part of its resources are used. There is no waste and the entire process is safe and environmentally friendly way. No harm shall come to the environment when Maui is here. The tequila is also very cheap compared to the competition on the market. This has made the brand a serious competitor for the #1 spot.

How Johnson’s Teremana Tequila is setting records

By the end of 2022, it was reported that the brand had crossed a million in annual case sales. However, The Rock has always maintained it was never about sales but about representation. The Rock cares about what he puts out there and has always wanted a product that would be ultra-quality but affordable.

In May of 2023, MensJournal sat down with Johnson to discuss this milestone, to which he said, “Well, it means a lot of happy people, I hope. But the first word that comes to mind is just gratitude.” The Rock always thanks his fans for making the brand what it is today.
