Following SummerSlam on August 5, WWE’s Head of Creative, Triple H showered lavish praise on Brock Lesnar. The Game hailed the 46-year-old as “The greatest combat athlete of all time” at the post-event press conference. Lesnar, in many ways, has also been unique. He started out as a 25-year-old in WWE. Over the course of 21 years, The Beast has not only been able to maintain his intensity, but he has also arguably increased it. Lesnar is also one of the fiercest pro wrestlers going around. He has made many of his peers shudder inside the squared circle by just being present. But how is Brock Lesnar backstage?
A 48-year-old WWE legend, who observed the Icon closely in his formative years, has recently opened up about it. The admission might leave you stunned.
Matt Hardy says Brock Lesnar reminded him of his brother

Matt Hardy needs no introduction to pro wrestling fans. Not just the WWE, Hardy has had a successful career in several rival promotions as well. While his singles career isn’t that decorated, as a tag team wrestler, Hardy, along with his brother Jeff, possesses a legendary resume.
The 10-time Tag Team Champion in WWE was already an established star by the time Lesnar graduated from Ohio Valley Wrestling to the WWE’s main roster in 2002. It was Paul Heyman who billed Lesnar as The Next Big Thing in the promotion and Lesnar backed it up with his heel gimmick. He convincingly managed to intimidate some of the more experienced names on the roster. In fact, The Hardy Boyz were Lesnar’s first notable feud in WWE.
But Hardy remembers him as a polite and kind individual. “Brock reminds me of my brother in many ways,” Matt Hardy said on the latest episode of ‘The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy’ podcast. He said Lesnar was a very private person who hated being in the public eye.
“…he would be very kind, he’d be very grateful. He was appreciative that he was getting this opportunity,” Hardy said. The AEW star said Brock Lesnar appreciated all those around him, who worked with him. “[He] wasn’t demanding, wasn’t one of those guys who’s like ‘no, it has to be this way or it’s going to be that’,” Hardy added.
It’s strange how Lesnar was able to do just the opposite during his character play. But Lesnar wasn’t always like this. There was a time when he left a coach incensed with his behavior.
Jim Cornette once bashed Brock Lesnar for his inappropriate behavior
WWE legend Jim Cornette was one of Lesnar’s coaches at the OVW. He had a look at the wrestler even before Hardy did. The accounts of the two about Lesnar are very different. While Hardy saw a gentle, humble Lesnar in the locker room, Cornette saw a bully.
In a podcast, he revealed that Lesnar was willing to look down upon anyone who he felt didn’t match up to his expectations. While he would pick on his peers in the developmental division and get away with it, Cornette once threatened the young wrestler with consequences.

It happened after The Beast Incarnate breached Cornette’s girlfriend’s trust during a match. Despite telling him to not perform a particular move, Lesnar thought it would be okay to do it, hurting Synn, Cornette’s then-girlfriend and now wife. This led to a confrontation backstage between Lesnar and Synn and Cornette, who got involved. Hearing Brock Lesnar abuse his girlfriend while ignoring her plight earlier, Cornette threatened to use a gun.
Fortunately, he didn’t, and shortly after this, Brock Lesnar made his main roster debut. And according to Matt Hardy, Lesnar didn’t throw any tantrums. So, he must have matured even at that young age.
