“Was So Far Ahead”: Triple H Once Explained How John Cena Went On Packing Arenas Despite Half of the People Booing Him

It is no doubt that John Cena is the biggest babyface in professional wrestling in the last 20 years. The Franchise Player’s impact on the WWE is astounding even today even though he isn’t a full-time wrestler. Fans today absolutely love and adore Cena. However, there was a time when the fans booed him to a great degree but he was still the top guy in WWE.

Once Triple H gave his thoughts on fans booing the Peacemaker star in WWE. Moreover, he explained how it didn’t affect his popularity in any way.

A few years ago in 2015, Triple H appeared on Stone Cold Podcast on the WWE Network. While discussing the WWE product at the time, Hunter shared his thoughts on fans booing Cena in the arena.

‘The King of Kings’ said, “People will say all the time about Cena like, I read that all the time that don’t we listen to people are tired of seeing him, and they don’t want to see this. There is a long period of time when half of the people were booing John and half the people were cheering for him, but he was packing arenas. He was selling more merchandise, he was more popular than ever. Everything that we did John was so far ahead.”

At the time in 2015, Cena was in a feud with Rusev. Moreover, at WrestleMania 31, ‘The Cenation Leader’ had a good outing with ‘The Bulgarian Brute’ at the grandest stage. He won his fourth United States Championship and started a new chapter in his WWE career.

It was a new part of Cena’s WWE career after being the main event for a long time. Nevertheless, even though fans used to boo him, Cena sold ample merchandise, filled arenas, and brought and elevated whichever title he held. Currently, he is ready to have a match at WrestleMania 39 against Austin Theory for the US title.

Recently, the news of Cena and Theory opening WrestleMania 39 Night One on Saturday came out. The fans shared their reaction to this news as some were in favor of it while some weren’t.

However, the ‘A-Town Down’ star shared the news on Twitter and is ready to go toe-to-toe with Cena at any spot on the card. The current US Champion wrote, “I kick off MY SHOW🚀 #atowndown JUST ANNOUNCED: @_Theory1 vs. @JohnCena for the United States Championship will kick off #WrestleMania  Saturday! 🇺🇸”
