Vince McMahon stepped down as Chairman and CEO of WWE in June 2022. Since then, his influence on the company seemed to slowly be fading. However, the former CEO took a U-turn when he sold his company to the multi-billion dollar William Morris Endeavor. The parent company combined WWE and UFC into one big sports entertainment group called TKO.
On the board of directors of TKO, Vince McMahon was seated in a high post as the company’s Executive Chairman, giving directions and strategies to the board. But now, his business reign seems to have finally ended.

Previously, there were moments when the board had shown its dislike for McMahon’s personality, social image, and way of leading the team. Despite the sentiment among fans that he may get fired, McMahon maintained his position as the Executive Chairman of the TKO group. Due to a series of allegations, a major lawsuit filed against him and the dropping of TKO from a major advertised, McMahon resigned from his post on January 26.
A few days ago, the current CEO of WWE, Nick Khan, spilled the beans via an email that McMahon has resigned from all the posts he had in TKO and its subsidiaries. Now, this has officially been confirmed by TKO.
On TKO’s official website, the company has uploaded a Current Report filing, announcing the departure of McMahon. “On January 26, 2024, Vincent K. McMahon notified the board of directors (the “Board”) of TKO Group Holdings, Inc. (“TKO”) of his resignation from his positions as Executive Chair and a member of the Board, and any other positions, employment or otherwise, he has at TKO and its subsidiaries, in each case, with immediate effect as of January 26, 2024,” the filing reads.
McMahon has served a long time as a businessman leading the Stamford-based company. However, his departure doesn’t seem to come as a surprise or a disappointment for fans for a variety of reasons.
