The rumor mill is whispering that Vince McMahon will indeed have a match at WrestleMania. Moreover, the match will be against SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee. Vince McMahon will appear on the Pat McAfee show very soon.

Consequently, this might be the beginning of their WrestleMania program. While there is no official confirmation yet, WWE legend Vince Russo has commented on the possibility of the match happening at the grandest stage of them all.

Russo used to work as a writer and producer with WWE back during the Monday Night Wars. He is responsible for producing some incredible matches and storylines in the past. However, after WWE and Russo parted ways, he joined WCW and became a major writer backstage.

Towards the end of the Wars when WCW was on its last straws, Russo even became the WCW Champion. Moreover, Russo has not officially worked for WWE for a while now. He seems to think that the match will happen and the rumors are true.

However, he criticized WWE for reaching a point in their booking, where this will be necessary at the showcase of the immortals. Will Vince McMahon actually fight McAfee in the ring is yet to be declared. However, it is not necessary that there will be a match. It could always be a different gimmick program.

Vince McMahon is in his late 70s and even though he has stepped into the squared circle many times, it might not be possible for him to have a match anymore. On the other hand, McAfee has never competed in the WWE ring. Only time will tell if this match actually happens.

When did Vince McMahon last compete in WWE?

Vince McMahon is nearly superhuman with the number of things he does. The Chairman of WWE is not just a corporate entity that gives orders to his employees. Rather, Vince has routinely participated in many matches inside the WWE ring.

His rivalry and matches with Stone Cold Steve Austin defined the Attitude Era back in the late 1990s. However, it has been more than a decade since McMahon competed inside the squared circle. His last proper match was against Bret “The Hitman” Hart at WrestleMania 26 in 2010.

Vince McMahon has gotten in a few physical altercations post that match but most of them were brawls outside the ring with no official outcome. The Chairman has surprised WWE fans for decades and he might just do it again at WrestleMania.
