WrestleMania is the grandest of all pro-wrestling shows and every year millions of fans wait for the yearly spectacle. This year, Vince McMahon managed to grab some of the limelight as he announced massive news after the marquee event. McMahon, who was forced into retirement in 2022 in the wake of investigations regarding his hush money payments, came back earlier this year. While his return yielded a massive $21 billion UFC-WWE merger in the Endeavor deal, it reportedly left many talents worried.
Several superstars are on guard following Vince McMahon’s return
Since McMahon’s departure, the WWE programming improved in terms of stability. Storylines were given a longer rope and there was less chopping and changing of content. According to Fightful Select, several talents in the company also had a blast during the European Tour in 2022, which coincided with Vinnie Mac’s absence from the company.

“Morale was particularly high after the European tour, which many told us was the most fun they’ve ever been on,” the outlet reported. However, since his controversial return earlier this year, he has left many talents in a “wait and see” mode. They are upset with the constant changes that were made by McMahon during WrestleMania week, where he was backstage, sporting a different look than his usual one.
Reports have also stated that McMahon has since not been backstage after sensing the chaos he created, but still continues to make changes remotely. “However, several also believe that McMahon realized the chaos that just being backstage caused and has opted to work remotely since,” Fightful said.
McMahon’s return wasn’t received well by the WWE Universe either, who pointed at the changes and blamed him for the faults.
Fans came hard on McMahon for changes in RAW after ‘Mania
Those who watched Raw after Mania were left with more questions than answers. Seth Rollins receiving instructions inside the ring, Brock Lesnar turning on Cody Rhodes without any premise and many more- the show was filled with abrupt changes and fans seemed to know who the mastermind was.
They had no hesitation in calling out Vince McMahon for it. Some fans even called it unprofessional, especially for the treatment of Rollins, who left without uttering a single word after being passed a message by one of the WWE employees.
