Former NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa and Randy Orton have been in a feud for the past 2 days. The feud had started on Twitter when Orton tweeted about the NXT Takeover match.
Ciampa responded by saying that he plays Randy Orton’s matches to help put his daughter to sleep. The Twitter war sparked off from there, with Orton’s wife getting involved as well.
It has now come to light that CEO Vince McMahon is extremely unhappy with both superstars as far as their quarrel is concerned.

Most arguments between WWE Superstars outside of the shows mostly lead to feuds inside the ring. This is because many of the arguments superstars have with each other, are actually cleared by WWE, to make room for future storylines.

Randy Orton and Tommaso Ciampa broke an unwritten rule?
As per an unwritten rule, Superstars cannot engage in genuine arguments or feuds with their peers on Twitter, if they haven’t been booked for a fight or a storyline.
While this breaks immersion in a big way, kayfabe is maintained intact throughout the entire ordeal.
It is extremely surprising that the lives of the WWE Superstars spill into their real-life Twitter accounts as well.

Wrestling Observer Live, the most authoritative newsletter for pro-wrestling, run by Dave Melzer and Bryan Alvarez, reported that McMahon was unhappy with Orton and Ciampa’s shenanigans.
This was because Ciampa and Orton did not have a match lined up. However, they still engaged in a verbal tussle over social media. This broke the unwritten rule that McMahon had set, with his Superstars’ social media usage.

“The impression I was given is that Vince McMahon isn’t very happy about this. For those of you who may not know, there are rules and then there’s Vince.
“Vince hates it when guys or women or whatever do something that teases a match that he’s not gonna do, but if he starts booking something that doesn’t pay off it’s totally fine. There’s a different set of rules,” the Wrestling Observer reported.
These rules on fighters seem extremely restrictive as they try to control what the Superstars do outside the ring. This may be a little excessive, as it doesn’t allow WWE Superstars to call out their peers online.

The Orton-Ciampa beef seems to have been squashed as of late, most probably as a result of McMahon’s intervention.
