WWE chairman Vince McMahon is a marketing genius, there are no two ways about it. However, throughout his experimental history with storylines, not every angle sat well with the WWE Universe or even the wrestlers involved.
ECW legend, Tommy Dreamer recently revealed that back in 2002, the infamous Katie Vick storyline, which involved a rivalry between Kane and Triple H was supposed to culminate in a WrestleMania match between ‘Sick Boy’ Scott Vick (Katie Vick’s brother) and Triple H.
After the tragic death of Katie, Triple H accused the ‘Big Red Machine’ Kane of murdering her and then violating her body after her death. That angle has been criticized by fans universally and is widely regarded as the worst in WWE history.

Former WWE superstar, Tommy Dreamer featured on the latest episode of his House of Hardcore podcast, he revealed that Vince McMahon approved the storyline.
“The whole Katie Vick, narcolepsy [Necrophilia] angle, that all came about through Vince and the payoff of all that was going to be Sick Boy Scott Vick was going to wrestle Triple H at WrestleMania to avenge his sister, who was dead.”
Vince McMahon never shied away from a controversy
Speaking on his podcast, Dreamer revealed that not only Vince McMahon but John Laurinaitis was also in with this idea and thought that the people would love it when Scott would avenge her sister.

“This horrible angle with Kane and Triple H was going to be the caveat to headlining WrestleMania with Scott Vick avenging his sister Katie Vick,” Dreamer noted. “I remember Johnny (John Laurinaitis) having to tell Vince, ‘that’s great, but he’s not employed here’.”
The match never came to fruition as the superstar wasn’t a permanent member, he was only involved for a tryout.

Eventually, WWE Universe hated this angle, and many people questioned the backstage creative team. Luckily, WWE went PG, and they had to dial it down to a much more family-oriented content.
