Vince McMahon has a lot of rules for WWE’s product. One of them, especially in the PG era, is to avoid bloodshed and blading at all costs. In fact, many wrestlers have gotten in trouble if they had bloodshed in the matches when explicitly banned.

Former WWE Referee Marty Elias used to work for WWE during that time. He featured in some prominent matches throughout his career. However, he was part of one match that changed WWE history. In 2002, at the Great American Bash, Shawn Michaels took on Chris Jericho in the middle of a heated feud. After Vince saw the match, he decided to ban bloodshed and blading completely.
Marty Elias recently appeared on the “Chat Grapple and Cheap Pops Podcast” where he discussed the outcome of that match he stopped midway as HBK had bled profusely. The bleeding spot and the stoppage were both parts of the match script. However, anyone who saw the contest knew that Shawn Michaels might have cut too deep, as there was an enormous amount of blood.
Elias said.“Yes, that match was the match that banned blading and blood in WWE. That was the one where Vince said ‘no more.'”

Shawn Michaels has come forward and said on Talk is Jericho that he begged Vince to let him bleed in the match. However, it seems like he went too far. This mistake by the WWE Hall of Famer led to blood being banned in WWE.
Marty further said that he had been working with Shawn, Chris, and Vince himself to figure out the proper style to end this match.

Vince McMahon is a genius. When it comes to wrestling, he is the greatest promoter in history. Vince has successfully built a billion-dollar company and made WWE last for decades. However, he has a lot of quirky rules that have to be strictly followed by wrestlers.

While Mr.McMahon has never confirmed any of these officially, many former WWE employees have confirmed that they exist. The rules include no blood and the banning of the word “hospital.” Moreover, there are many terms that are banned from WWE, and talking about the competition is also banned.
