But in the modern day, social media has taken over every aspect of living, kayfabe has lost its novelty.

Last RAW, we saw Seth Rollins beat up a defenseless and injured Cody Rhodes, considered being one of the worst heel moves in WWE history. But as you can see from this tweet, both Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, smiling while meeting this young fan.

Similar to this, Roman Reigns was also trending a while ago when he met a fan in public and was the kindest soul. While his ‘Head of the Table’ gimmick is one of the proudest, he is very humble in real life.

In the older days, there were many clips of people meeting up with their favorite wrestlers during the backstage meet and greets. Acts like that of Brock Lesnar were the inspiration for many young children, despite being heels.

The influence of social media on kayfabe

Talking about kayfabe, some of the older WWE fans wish that superstars would keep up their kayfabe on social media. One of the victims of this wish was Alexa Bliss. During her stint as the companion of Bray Wyatt ‘The Fiend’, many hopped on Twitter, disrespecting Alexa’s social media.

But some wrestlers have adorned this wish and made it come true. MJF, one of the biggest AEW stars, is a perfect example of this “perfect wrestler”. There is no video of him ever breaking kayfabe and acting kind or humble to his fans, not even the young ones. While many fans might not like this, this aspect has made him a rare breed.
