Roman Reigns proved yet again why he’s The Tribal Chief, even without being present on the latest episode of SmackDown. The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion’s absence cost the remaining members of his stable dearly. They simply were no match for an emotional Jey Uso, who was out for revenge.

The plot was already set for a charged segment by last week’s occurrences. And with Paul Heyman stirring the pot a little longer on July 14, it backfired on the legendary manager.

Jimmy Uso, the older of the Uso twins, was left injured after a merciless attack from Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa last week. The former Undisputed Tag Team Champion had to be rushed to the hospital following the attack. That resulted in Jey Uso going rogue and inflicting pain on The Bloodline.

The 37-year-old, however, wasn’t fully done. In the recent episode, he called himself ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso and the new ‘Tribal Chief’ and promised to pay back for his brother’s injury. His list contained all three remaining members of the Reign faction. Uso also called out Paul Heyman and his tactics, stating that it has to stop.

Shortly after that, the 57-year-old walked out with Solo Sikoa in tow. Instead of pacifying a charged-up Jey Uso, Heyman chose to berate him and even held him responsible for Jimmy Uso’s plight. He was joined by Sikoa, who echoed Heyman’s sentiments.

Unhappy with their response, Jey Uso retaliated with an attack. Paul Heyman tried to use a chair on the 37-year-old but was hit with a Superkick. The same chair was used on Solo Sikoa after Jey Uso used the Suicide Dive on him.

This clearly showed that the Enforcer of The Bloodline failed to keep Heyman safe in the absence of Roman Reigns. While there have been such attacks in the past, Heyman hasn’t been harmed directly, especially in the presence of The Tribal Chief. This proves his value as the leader of the warring faction.

Meanwhile, there is also an update about Jimmy Uso’s health.

Attack leaves Jimmy Uso out of action for the foreseeable future

The attack on the July 7 episode of SmackDown has left Jimmy Uso with a ruptured rib cartilage, according to WWE commentator Michael Cole. He is expected to miss out on the WWE program for some weeks.

While the injury is likely to be a part of the kayfabe, it could have been incorporated into the story to facilitate Jey Uso’s development as a singles wrestler.

The younger twin is expected to take on Roman Reigns at WWE SummerSlam on August 5. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Jimmy Uso making a comeback during the PLE and helping his twin out.
