Edge and Christian Cage were tag-team partners for a good amount before disbanding in 2001. Both had successful singles careers as well but Edge arguably became more of a bigger star winning multiple world titles and other accolades.  And even after all these years, the shadow of his teammate still follows Cage.

The two performed largely as a team. But when it came to singles, there was a significant difference in their careers. While Edge was becoming much more popular, Cage’s character development was arguably lacking in comparison to Edge’s. Christian, who now works for AEW, was recently reminded by fans of this during AEW programming.

Christian Cage has been in AEW since 2021. Due to an injury last year, the wrestler was sidelined. However, he made returned in 2023 and is on the way to becoming a TNT champion. This is because, in a recent episode, Cage was featured in a promo and called out Wardlow. The latter is the current TNT champion on AEW and Cage is aiming to snatch his title away.

In the promo, Cage went harsh on his future opponent and said some things about his father. It could be possible that the audience did not appreciate it and hence compared Cage to his old teammate.

As a result, we can hear background chants saying, “Edge is better“. Probably due to his words, Cage had to endure what the fans put him through. Christian’s heel persona means he will find himself in similar situation, a testament to the work he is doing.

Although this is a pretty loud comparison, it still isn’t the first-ever comparison between WWE and AEW.

AEW had planned big for its ‘All In’ PPV taking place in August this year in London. Tony Khan booked the historical ‘Wembley Stadium’ in London for the same. When reported earlier, ‘All In’ was sitting atop 45K signees for the event. However, the catch is that those signees don’t have a guarantee to show up at the event. The company has faced this issue before.
