John Cena is rumored to return at WrestleMania 39 for a match. Since his debut, Cena has appeared on WWE every year except in 2022. But if it doesn’t occur in this year, then Cena might have his next wrestling match at WrestleMania 39.
WrestleMania 38 saw a stunning in-ring return of the Texas Rattlesnake. Stone Cold Steve Austin returned to action at the Grandest Stage of them all, against Kevin Owens. Owens and Austin main-evented the Night 1 of WrestleMania 38.
Stone Cold’s return to action was shocking. Austin attended the main-event of WrestleMania 38 as a guest of the ‘KO Show’. However, Owens then challenged Austin for a match, which he accepted. This would mark Austin’s in-ring return after his previous match in 2003 at WrestleMania 19.

It was recently announced that WWE offered Stone Cold Steve Austin another match. Ever since the shift of power took place in WWE, several new changes and additions have taken place in the company; WWE offering Steve Austin another match, being one of them.
The Texas Rattlesnake is way out of his prime, and not in wrestling form. His return against Owens, although it was nostalgic, it did not feature an exceptional wrestling performance. Austin has been out of action for a long time, and with his age, returning right now would not be the correct thing to do.

Utterly ridiculous we could possibly get Austin and Rock main eventing each night of Mania….
— Steve Dawson (@ThisBeSteveD) November 14, 2022
Some fans even infused sarcasm, saying Goldberg and Austin should face each other in a death match!
Stone Cold v Goldberg in a barbed wire iron man death match.

Please no. He had a good moment at last WrestleMania just leave it at that

goddamn, half the replies acting like Stone Cold can still go. Did you not watch his KO "match"? It was great because of how they worked it. The man can't physically do a real match without it looking rough, let him be

Gotta be Cena. Legit has to be Cena.

Part timers killed WrestleMania for a decade with Undertaker, Triple H and Brock Lesnar doing it every year.
Austin is different. Fans were robbed of him due to injury. Give me all the Austin matches.
And yes. Cena vs Austin should be the move.

No one, the match he had at this years wm was a perfect farewell

oh hell yeah cant wait to see a 50 something year old retired legend come back and take a mania spot from a younger talent. Things have totally changed
— Ya (@Ya_ImIntoIt) November 14, 2022
Things have changed – you get to watch your so called young talent numerous times a week for the last few years, one of which had a rub from main eventing with Austin.

The WrestleMania 19 match with The Rock and the WrestleMania 38 main event with Kevin Owens were both fantastic matches to end Austin’s career on. I don’t think another match should happen. However, John Cena would be my pick if he did agree to do it.

Austin would be gone after one suplex, I know for sure Brock ain’t happening
— Lunatic (@dude_lunatic) November 14, 2022
Fans were not exactly thrilled at the idea of Austin returning and having another match, since his last match was not that great, and he did receive a good farewell match at WrestleMania 19.
That's like saying it would be great to see Nolan Ryan face Willie Mays. They're both still around, but I have no interest in seeing that.

Kinda wish he wouldn't, thought the match versus KO was special,a great way to end things (he shouldn't have come out on night 2 either IMO) but I'll still watch if he does, hopefully it's good.

Although immensely popular among his fans, people do not want to see Austin wrestle owing to his health and age. His coming back inside the ring last year showed the ring rust he was going through, and watching another match like that would be painful.
Stone Cold Steve Austin is one of the greatest pro wrestlers to set foot inside the ring and was a huge figure behind WWE toppling over WCW during the Monday Night Wars. Austin was also one of the most important figures during WWE’s Attitude Era and helped make it successful.
