We are almost 20 days away from one of the biggest WrestleMania in the history of WWE, WrestleMania XL. Ahead of the Shows of Shows, plenty of drama has unfolded. This includes the return of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and his heel turn after almost two decades. However, that is not the only major change fans noticed. On this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, fans saw a different Cody Rhodes in the ring. The American Nightmare was about to go Homelander this week and a particular star took the credit for it.

Who ideated the comparison of Homelander and Cody Rhodes?

Pro wrestling enthusiast and Den of Thieves star, O’Shea Jackson Jr took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a very interesting trivia from this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. He mentioned that he used to refer to Rhodes as the character Homelander from The Boys comics and television series during his time at AEW. The resemblance could be attributed to the fact that the American Nightmare’s in-ring attire is almost similar to that of the character and he has a striking resemblance with the star who plays the character, Anthony Starr. Jackson Jr. rated the segment somewhere between 8 and 8.5 and the reason he stated for it was “Because he said Homelander and I used to call him that on AEW.”

On this week’s episode of Raw, fans were aware that the two-time Royal Rumble winner’s promo is going to be slightly different. The star who usually dresses up in bright-colored suits, wore a black suit that day. On top of that, the lighting in the arena was dimmed down as compared to his previous promos.

However, things took a shocking turn when Paul Heyman entered. Rhodes was trying to bear with him and towards the end of the promo, he snapped. He then told Heyman, “I am about to go full Homelander and rip your throat out.” This was a departure from his usual character and fans were all in for the new Rhodes.

What’s the next chapter ahead of the Rhodes-Reigns feud?

On the show, Heyman made an offer to Cody Rhodes stating that if Roman Reigns appears all by himself on this week’s episode of SmackDown, then Rhodes will have to be present on the episode all by himself. The American Nightmare accepted the offer but there is something off about this deal. First off, The Tribal Chief never goes anywhere without his entourage. Everywhere he goes, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa accompany him.
