Well, it’s not particularly surprising that Schwarzenegger enjoys wrestling, as many others do. And in 2015, IGN had an interview with 7x Mr. Olympia champion as he was involved in WWE 2k16.
Moreover, since he is a longtime follower of wrestling, he was questioned about his all-time favorite wrestler. To which he replied, “I love them all, The Rock and Stone Cold, but I really identify with Bruno Sammartino. He is a fellow immigrant, and he is truly a legend. [H/T: IGN]“
“The Terminator” went on to say that the fact that he has sold out Madison Square Garden 187 times makes him wonder just how great he was. He remembers becoming a devotee of his after witnessing him for the first time pick up a person above his head.
Sammartino, who held the WWWF World Heavyweight Championship for more than 11 years, has exceptional strength. Additionally, at 2,803 days, his first reign still holds the promotion’s record for the longest single reign. These stats will surely convert you into a fan of Sammartino, like Austrian Oak.
