And the same happened with the US Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson, who is returning to Amateur Wrestling just as Triple H was about to execute his post-WrestleMania plan for him.
The 22-year-old WWE superstar is returning to Amateur Wrestling

Recently, Team USA shared the report that Gable Steveson has announced his return to Amateur Wrestling. He announced this news after being signed with WWE for more than a year.
Team USA reported, “Gable Steveson, as he announced his return to amateur wrestling competition on Tuesday evening with his registration in the U.S. Open, which will take place later this month. The announcement closes out a 13-month hiatus from the sport dating back to last season’s NCAA Championships where Steveson left his wrestling shoes on center mat.”
Before his departure, everyone thought that the WWE chief content officer brought him to be the next Brock Lesnar. Even Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that Steveson is going to receive a ‘monster push’ at WWE.
However, Gable stunned everyone with the announcement. Now he is going to his familiar playground, the center mat. T
“Steveson has hinted towards his desire to make his return to the mat in recent media appearances as the 2024 Olympic cycle draws near. FloWrestling confirmed Steveson’s return through their social channels on Tuesday evening.”

According to the rumors, Triple H had a huge plan for Gable Steveson after WrestleMania 39. But it seems like Steveson has already decided on a plan for himself that takes him away from pro wrestling.
Steveson was pretty excited when he was drafted to the Raw brand in 2021. But things didn’t go as expected and he never got any match.
