Sasha Banks set to return to WWE at Royal Rumble?

WrestleOps posted a picture of former WWE World Champion Sasha Banks on X on January 19th. The picture was posted along with a tweet, “Regarding Mercedes Moné: ‘With all the AEW rumours (and there’s an expectation in AEW that she’ll be in after finishing up some acting commitments this month), nothing is for certain & some in WWE believe there’s still a shot for her in the Royal Rumble.”

Renowned Wrestling Journalist Dave Meltzer stated on his recent episode of Wrestling Observer News Radio an update on Sasha Banks’ return at Royal Rumble. As per Meltzer, Sasha Banks may return to WWE despite the rumours of her joining AEW after her contract expires at NJPW. She is currently the NJPW Women’s World Champion.

She left WWE on a sour note due to poor treatment at the hands of Vince McMahon but now there’s a change in management at WWE. Hence, the chances of her return are high as Triple H is in charge. Some in WWE believe that Banks will appear at Rumble as a surprise entrant.

Rumours suggesting Sasha Banks to join AEW this month

On the contrary, Meltzer states that AEW believes that Banks may join them by the end of January, after finishing up her acting commitments. She has worked on a few big projects including The Mandalorian TV series and The Collective, released last year.

A few weeks ago, Dave Meltzer stated on WON Radio that her transfer was imminent. However, he refused to confirm anything until a contract was signed. He said, “The expectation is that it’s imminent. Until it happens and I hear that the contract is actually signed, I don’t take anything seriously because it’s been a year of rumours and thoughts and nothing happened.” Well, with so much drama unfolding around her return, Meltzer gave his final verdict as nothing is certain.
