The 2024 edition of SummerSlam started with a bang. The opener of the evening was the match between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley, with the Women’s World Championship on the line. After a very long and fierce rivalry, finally, the Australian wrestler and the Miracle Girl had the chance to face each other. And they had it on the grandest night of summer, SummerSlam.

The match between the two was truly amazing, as it had the fans in the Cleveland Browns Stadium on their feet. Morgan tried to escape from the attacks of Mami, who suffered several shoulder problems during the contest. Even Kayfabe dislocated it during the match. At ringside stood Dominik Mysterio, and Rey Mysterio’s son proved fundamental to Morgan’s victory despite being Ripley’s partner in crime, as he passed Miracle Girl a chair on which the champion performed the Oblivion that earned her the winning pin.

After the match, Dom Dom went to hug and, subsequently, kiss Liv Morgan, much to the amazement of the audience and the disappointment of Rhea Ripley. This act of betrayal was one of the most talked about on social media, as the relationship between Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio seems to have captured the interest of fans. So much so that the WWE is truly trying its best to capitalize on the bond between the two.

After tonight’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown came to an end, the two love birds made their appearance during tonight’s dark matches that took place after the show. The two looked completely in love, and surely the fans loved the chemistry as they captured the moments shared between them. While a clip by @FadeAwayMedia showed a happy Dom-Dom following his love, a moment captured by WrestleOps on X shows Morgan hanging on Mysterio’s torso while the two smile while looking at each other, almost close to kissing.

But it would be interesting to see what Rhea Ripley thinks of these clips and pictures. She recently almost got her hands on Morgan when she attacked the Judgment Day to save Damian Priest from the group’s attack. However, Mysterio intervened just in time to prevent Mami from powerbombing Morgan on the commentary table, truly showing that he has completely switched to a darker side. It was a major heel turn for the wrestler, who was already one of the biggest heels in the WWE. But Mysterio sees it in a different way.

Dominik Mysterio compares himself to Anakin Skywalker

After WWE posted a message remembering the events of SummerSlam 2024, Dominik Mysterio reacted with a gif of Anakin Skywalker, who in the Star Wars film saga betrayed the Jedi and joined the dark side of the Force. The truth is that Dominik’s betrayal has certain similarities to Anakin Skywalker’s betrayal of his master, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

But the major difference was that Mysterio wasn’t a Jedi, as he had already betrayed his father to join the Judgment Day and become one of the most despised faces in the Stamford-based promotion. We’ll see how this rivalry plays out in the future and how Liv and Dominik fare together in WWE programming.
