

Injuries in pro wrestling can prove painful for the wrestlers. But they also can be heartbreaking for the fans. Over the years, the WWE Universe has been deprived of several dream battles. And John Cena vs Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 25 is one such match that never actually took place.
Hulk Hogan and John Cena are two of the most successful pro wrestlers in the world. At WrestleMania 25, Hulk Hogan was supposed to face John Cena. But the plan got ruined after Hogan suffered a back injury, pulling him out of his match against Cena.
In an interview, Hulk Hogan revealed his back surgery spoiled his match against Cena at WrestleMania 25. He said, “I was supposed to wrestle John Cena for the title, and about four weeks ago I had back surgery.”

“Vince and I were talking about how much involvement I wanted to have in WrestleMania, and if I wanted to keep wrestling, and out of nowhere, my back just got really crazy. I went in for an MRI and I had to have some emergency surgery that threw me out of the game,” Hogan added. (H/T: Bleacher Report)
John Cena defeated Chris Jericho at Survivor Series to win the World Heavyweight Championship. He later lost it to Edge at WWE No Way Out in 2009, prior to WrestleMania 25. But Cena won the title back once again at WrestleMania 25.

Whom did John Cena face at WrestleMania 25?
Even though Cena did not face Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 25, he battled against two top WWE stars on that night. He faced Big Show and Edge in a triple threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship. On that night, Cena pulled off a miracle by lifting both Big Show and Edge at the same time.

The former WWE Champion successfully hit Big Show with the Attitude Adjustment, but Edge escaped it. However, moments later, he lifted Edge and successfully dropped Edge on Big Show by hitting Edge with the Attitude Adjustment. Cena would then pin Big Show to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
When did Cena last wrestle in WWE?
It has been a long time since we last saw Cena battling inside the squared circle. His last match in WWE was a dark match on WWE SmackDown. He teamed up with Dominik and Rey Mysterio to take on The Bloodline.

As WrestleMania 38 is approaching, fans would love to see John Cena back in WWE. However, because of his tight Hollywood schedule, he is less likely to return to WWE prior to WrestleMania 38.
