Does The Undertaker have one last epic match left in him, or should he hang up his boots?

Despite his deep desire to keep wrestling, The Undertaker, a WWE Hall of Famer, understands that it’s no longer possible. His illustrious 30-year career concluded with a final farewell at 2020s Survivor Series at WWE’s Thunderdome. He was rightfully honored with induction into the WWE Hall of Fame before fans in 2022.

The transition into retirement has been a challenging journey for The Undertaker, as he still wishes to have one last match in the WWE before he can hang his boots with the utmost satisfaction. In the latest edition of the ImPaulsive podcast, The Undertaker joined Logan Paul to talk about the WWE and his illustrious career.

So it was during this conversation that he revealed that he wishes he could’ve had another match in the WWE. One last fight where he can properly bid adieu to his wrestling career. However, he knows that he has aged, and the match wouldn’t be of the quality that his fans and the WWE Universe would expect from a Hall of Famer and legend like the Deadman. Something that stops him from requesting the fight.

He said, “Yeah, just to put the exclamation point on the career. I wanted to have that one match I could hang my hat on and say goodbye because my body, I mean, it was breaking down at that point to the point where I can’t, I can walk and talk and I could get out right now and I could do a match. But it’s not a match that you as an Undertaker fan or an Undertaker fan is like, oh, that’s not my, they may give me the benefit of the doubt because I’ve got all that equity built up in all those years.”

The Phenom’s last match was at WrestleMania 36, in what is well known as the Boneyard Match against AJ Styles. However, it wasn’t the traditional wrestling match that the Undertaker or his fans would’ve expected, but it had to be done because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But this surely has left the Hall of Famer unsatisfied. So much so that The Undertaker admits that he feels “anxiety” every time he attends a WWE event.

He said, “Recently, I’ve just kind of had closure at Mania. I don’t know if you heard this, but I’ve struggled—I’ve struggled since I retired at being at live events. Like, I would go. I was at the Rumble because I had a One Dead Man Show in Clearwater, and I stayed over and I was at the Rumble. By the time maybe the first match had gone out, I left. Internally, my body and my mind are saying, ‘You should be getting ready; you should be going out there.’ I get almost—I wouldn’t say anxiety—but I just get this feeling like I can’t take it, right? Because I want to be out there so bad. I wanted to continue to wrestle. Obviously, my body broke down, and father time is undefeated.”

Many fans strongly criticized The Undertaker for not ending his career in the right way. However, it’s not easy to know when to end your career when you love what you do, so it must not have been a simple decision to make. So, what do you think?
