Bray Wyatt's Uncle Howdy—genius storytelling or overhyped mystery? What's your take?

Uncle Howdy and Wyatt 6 continued to spread terror on WWE programming with repeated spine-chilling VHS tapes right after their supernatural debut on Raw. The spooky faction showcased a split persona between Bo Dallas and Uncle Howdy in a cryptic interview. They then targeted Chad Gable in recent weeks before stopping to focus on the agenda at hand.

Tonight on Raw, the trend waltzed back on the screen with another Dallas tape and with another coded message being concealed within.

The signature Uncle Howdy segment started with Bo Dallas having a candid chat with a television. He heard a voice claiming, “Another door opens.” Dallas proceeded by noting that he felt “him” in the arena last week. In fact, he always felt the same whenever he was with his family (Wyatt 6). “My life for you. My life for you. My life for YOU!, another high-stake vignette dropped, catching the crowd off guard. To find the origin, it turns out that the line is a reference to Stephen King’s The Stand.

The novel from the acclaimed horror writer is about a man who escapes from a weapon facility and carries a deadly virus with him which decimates a sizeable portion of the world’s population. Some of the survivors start experiencing dreams that warn them of the coming of a dark entity. Interestingly, an old woman by the name of Abagail imparts a mission to the survivors to stop the nefarious entity that poses a threat. Despite the minor change in spelling, Sister Abigail is a notable entity that has deep-rooted connections to Bray Wyatt and his creations in the WWE. In the novel, Abagail emerges as a catalyst to overcome great evil.

WWE may have chosen to highlight a line from the book as a form of foreshadowing of things to come. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see what is next to come in the riveting faction’s storyline. However, moving ahead, the real-life Bray Wyatt’s brother kept his basics (his late brother) highlighted in the promo.

Bo Dallas made an emotional reference to his late brother earlier in the promo

In the prior week, the faction clinched a surreal victory in their in-ring debut against Gable and the Creed Brothers. All the members embraced each other with acute emotion after the show went off air. Referring to that sense of satisfaction of fulfilling the late one’s dream, Dallas noted that everything was coming full circle, even to the point of being a bit happy. Dallas reminded everyone that all this started in Baltimore where the Wyatt family first made their debut 10 years back. He warmly uttered, ‘he was there’. A past clip of late Bray Wyatt immediately took over the crowd.

However, despite keeping his brother over everything and trying relentlessly to live through his aura, Bo Dallas was dubbed better than his brother. Braun Strowman once noted Dallas will reach even a greater height set by his brother if he’s given a chance. Due to the less exposure from the company’s creative, the 34-year-old couldn’t show his magic to the world so far. But now is the time he will take the chair and write a better story than the legendary Windham Rotunda.
